Client:

An independent middle-market advisory platform whose various nationwide locations SLA has helped to expand over the past six years.

Scope:

We had the direct ear of the firm’s CEO given our successful track record of partnership with them. We were once again brought in as the trusted recruitment partner, this time to facilitate the growth of a debt advisory group.

Amid all-time high deal flow and plans to set up a new satellite office, our client sought to build a debt advisory group on their platform to bolster their offerings. The importance of access to capital for M&A deals necessitated a well-connected senior banker to be the new group’s foundational building block.

SLA’s Approach:

Creativity was a key element of this search, both in infrastructure and execution. By working in partnership with the client on a hybrid pipeline-retainer structure, we not only maintained the necessary confidentiality and discretion of senior-level executive search, but also ensured consistent communication throughout the process.

By thinking creatively in our methods, we were able to find a selection of candidates with diverse backgrounds and holistic deal experience. Our deep industry connectivity pointed us in the direction of a candidate from a middle-market investment group at a bulge-bracket investment banking platform.

Result:

After we shared a shortlist of three well-rounded candidates, all three underwent interview processes, culminating in conversations with the firm’s CEO. An offer was extended to the strongest fit – an investment professional with prior investment banking experience across multiple industry verticals who wanted to go back to a sell-side advisory role – totaling approximately seven weeks from initial introduction to offer signature.
