Client:
A metro Philadelphia-based shared family office dedicated to asset and auxiliary management of ultra-high net worth individuals and their families.
SLA was introduced to this family office via a legacy client relationship of ours from the investment banking space.
Scope:
This firm retained SLA to hire a senior professional to lead direct investments as well as mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
Given the firm’s robust suite of client relationships, the ideal candidate did not need a pre-existing book of business, but rather deep-rooted M&A execution expertise and a strong culture fit with the firm’s echelon of clients, as well as geographical ties to the metro Philadelphia area.
SLA’s Approach:
While the more common sell-side to buy-side transition occurs at the junior level, SLA tapped into our rich network of senior-level M&A product experts with interest in a pivot to investment management as well as relationship qualities well-matched for the role – all the while utilizing a pipeline model to act to our geographical advantage.
With the complexity that often underscores senior-level hiring, SLA’s customary level of discretion and trust was well suited to this delicate search.
Result:
This search proved successful, with five of SLA’s top candidates interviewing and the finalist signing their offer in a total timeline of 15 weeks.
